A friend of mine played travel planner and booked her husband’s rental apartment in Sao Paulo for his last business trip. Maria Cecilia was recommended by a family friend as being reliable, trustworthy, and having beautiful apartments for rent. Her husband was excited, as the apartment was looked amazing. On arrival, it took forever for him to get the keys (Maria arrived late), the apartment was a bit dirty, and the hot water barely worked. Maria’s company was not responsive in fixing all of these issues, blaming in on “the owner”, whose number they wouldn’t give to my friend’s spouse. The experience was a disaster.
